Clipping Path: A Tool To Make Parts Of An Image Opaque

Everyone has heard about clipping path that is becoming very popular in North America among graphic designers. It can be stated as a vector path that allows only part of an image to be visible while hiding the rest of the image. In this way, clipping path effectively helps in portraying only the part of the image that is required. Clipping path is a tool to make parts of an image opaque.

A clipping path in a photo editing technique is functionally masking or making an image opaque in an illustration program. There are various types of clipping paths available in the market like the inclusive path that corresponds to the path what will be preserved after applying the clipping path services. The clockwise path that is non-self-intersecting is considered inclusive by convention. The exclusive path is in the opposite direction, and is “outside” the path defined by the graphic designer. The direction is reversed in the exclusive path. Another path is the compound path, which is the result from the combination of multiple paths. It has both the inclusive path and exclusive path and the Boolean operations that ultimately determine what the combined path contains.
