Embedded Path Vs. Alpha Channels
Clipping Path techniques are used to hide or replace certain portions of the images. These Clipping Paths are created through two main methods: Embedded paths and Alpha Channels
Embedded Paths
• Vector masks or outlines that have hard edges
• These are separate objects with an image
• Used in page layout applications
• Supported by EPS images
Alpha Channels
• Bitmap masks that have transparency
• These have both opaque and transparent areas
• Used in photo and video composition
• Supported by TIFF images
